《Vol. 120》 Comparison of the Status of Working Hour Regulations Between South Korea and Major Advanced Countries
The working hour regulations of South Korea and major advanced countries are compared. The comparison of the working hour regulations in South Korea, one of the longest-working countries in OECD, is aimed at providing basic data for developing a policy alternative. As for the major advanced countries, the working hour regulations and the related statuses in the U.K., which heralded the beginning of the working hour regulations, Germany with high labor productivity, France, which established the 35-hour work week system, and Japan, which has a labor market structure similar to that of South Korea, are examined. In addition, by examining the historical flow and changes of working hour regulations and policies in South Korea, the overall working hour regulations and policies are identified.
